This isn't just for the integration team — it becomes the source of truth for debugging, audits, and future changes.
  • They design for change. Integrations are built with the assumption that they will need to be updated. This means modular architecture, clear version control, and documented dependencies — so future changes don't require starting from scratch.
  • They run a data quality audit first. Before connecting systems, high-performing teams audit the data on both sides: completeness, consistency, and format. Issues found in audit cost hours to fix. Issues found in production cost weeks.
  • They establish a health-monitoring cadence. They don't wait for users to report problems. Automated alerts, regular data reconciliation checks, and a defined escalation path mean anomalies are caught early — before they become incidents.
