Most MSPs have at least one customer story worth telling, and most use it once: a case study PDF that sits on the website. A single story can do far more. Buyers want proof from someone like them, and one good story can supply it in six different places.
Because it answers the question every buyer asks: "Does this work for someone like me?" The story does that at every stage. It helps a stranger notice you, helps an interested buyer trust you, and helps a decision-maker say yes.
If you tell it once, it works once. Told six ways, it works all the time.
Each piece has its own job. The video earns attention, the case study carries the detail, the email starts the conversation, the social posts keep the story in front of people, and the sales asset helps close.
Ask five questions, and record the answers with the customer's permission:
Use only the numbers and words the customer gives you. Get written approval for the name, the logo, every quote, and every figure before anything is published.
Aim for one new story a month, and a simple queue so each story is turned into its pieces over the following weeks. The creation is the easy part. The consistent posting is the part that usually slips.
If that is where yours stalls, the MSP Studio+ trial experience gives you ready-made social posts and graphics to start with, so you have a steady stream while you build your own story library: getplus.meetgradient.com.
How long should an MSP case study be?
One page is enough to start. Lead with the result, then briefly explain the problem and what changed. A long document is less likely to be read or shared.
Do I need the customer's permission to publish their story?
Yes. Get written approval for their name, their logo, every quote, and every number, and confirm where each will be used.
What if a customer will not go on camera?
Use a written quote, an audio clip, or a short written story instead. If they want to stay anonymous, describe them generally and only with their approval.
